Art by nature is never independent from the human culture. Art is one of the seven elements of culture. It has a lot of diversity, such a music, dance, drama, and so on. It has iits own aesthetic values compared with the other elements of culture.
In this article, I will try to share some informations about music, especially about my favorite music.
Actually I like all kinds of music, but only a few genres I like the most. K-Pop or Korean Pop is one of them.
I honestly do not know when excactly I started to love this music genre. As I recall, the first time I like K-Pop very much when I was still in high school. A song 'Why' by Oon Myung (OST Full House, Korean Drama casted by Song Hye Kyo and Rain). After that I also started to like other Korean singers, such as Super Junior and all its subgroups (Super Junior Mandarin, Super Junior KRY, Super Junior Trot, and Super Junior Happy), So Nyuh Shi De (Girls Generation), Dong Bang Shin Ki (TVXQ), Big Bang, 2PM, f(x), Sung Shi Kyung, G Soul, and many more.
Unfortunately, my interest for K-Pop be a mockery for my friends around.
They consider me as a woman who most liked K-Pop. But actually the case is with starting to like its music, we will learn the language and get a lot of useful knowledge easily. Maybe they have no an open mind for new useful things.
Openness to foreign positive influences is one of attitudes that must be possessed by every people in the world especially in developing countries like Indonesia. we can get a lot of things from our brothers in the East Asia countries. If we want to learn it well, we will get many kinds of things, such as technology, education system, economy, lifestyle, manners, and so on. East Asian cultures have more similarities with Indonesia than Western ones.
I am still confused and my mind is filled with a big question. Is this weird if a man from Indonesia likes Korean Pop very much? Do other countries also apply something like that? I would appreciate comments from the readers. Thank you so much.
